Key Eligibility Criteria
1. Age Criteria (As of March 31 of the academic year)
- Balvatika: 3 to 6 years (depending on Balvatika 1, 2, or 3)
- Class 1: Minimum 6 years and maximum 8 years (Children born on April 1 are also considered).
- Differently-Abled Candidates: Maximum age limit can be relaxed by up to 2 years.
Priority Categories for Admission
KVS grants admissions based on a priority system:
- Category I: Children of central government employees & ex-servicemen.
- Category II: Children of central government autonomous bodies / PSU / Institute of Higher Learning employees.
- Category III: Children of state government employees.
- Category IV: Children of state government autonomous bodies / PSUs.
- Category V: Children from any other category (general public/private employees).
RTE & Category Reservations
- Right to Education (RTE): 25% seats reserved in Class 1.
- SC / ST / OBC-NCL: 15%, 7.5 %, and 27% reservations, respectively.
- Differently Abled: 3% horizontal reservation.
Required Documents
- Proof of Date of Birth: Birth certificate issued by competent authority.
- Proof of Residence: Aadhaar card, electricity bill, rent agreement, or official allotment letter.
- Service Certificate: For central/state government employees showing transfer details over the last 7 years.
- Category Certificate: SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/EWS/BPL certificate (if applicable).
- Differently-Abled Certificate: Issued by a certified medical authority (if applicable).
- Blood Group Report of the student.
Application Process
- For Balvatika & Class 1: Applications are submitted online via the official KVS Online Admission Portal.
- For Class 2 to Class 9: Applications are accepted offline directly at the respective Kendriya Vidyalaya branch, subject to seat availability.
- For Class 11: Admission forms are issued offline after the declaration of Class 10 board results.
